Rabindra Jayanti Celebration

“Everything comes to us that belongs to us if we create the capacity to receive it”. Following these famous words of Rabindranath Tagore the students and teachers of STEM World School gathered together to commemorate and celebrate the 164th birth anniversary of the renowned multifaceted personality, great poet, philosopher and painter who was on the intellectual firmament of the globe and became the first Asian to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913 for his classic “Gitanjali”. He is also the only person to have composed the National anthem of two Nations as well as providing inspiration for a third. In honour of this momentous occasion, Rabindra Jayanti was celebrated on 7th May 2024 to celebrate the birth anniversary of Rabindra Nath Tagore, and to honour him and his work. Teachers and students together became part of an enlightening programme elucidating the life and philosophy of Rabindra Nath Tagore. To enhance the student’s understanding of this revered figure, a visual presentation showcasing Tagore’s contributions to literature, music, art, education and culture as a whole was displayed. Through beautiful songs, narratives, dance and drama, students gained deeper insights into his aesthetic practices. The whole event not only celebrated Rabindra Nath Tagore’s birth anniversary but also inspired everyone with insights into literature, philosophy, education, social reform, nationalism, and the arts, fostering a holistic understanding of human values and society.
