At STEM World School, fostering intellectual growth goes hand in hand with cultivating discipline, focus, and strategic thinking — all of which are beautifully embodied in the game of chess. Chess sharpens the mind, nurtures patience, and instills the values of fair play, while also encouraging creative thinking and problem-solving skills. With this spirit, the Inter-House Chess Competition for the academic year 2025 was hosted on Wednesday, 20th August, providing students an engaging platform to showcase their analytical abilities and sportsmanship. The matches, divided into Junior and Senior categories, witnessed exciting battles of strategy where every move counted. In the Junior Category, Ramanujan House displayed remarkable focus and tactical brilliance to secure the 1st place. Aryabhata House followed as the 1st Runner-Up, while Vivekananda House claimed the position of 2nd Runner-Up. Bhabha House finished in 4th place, fighting spiritedly throughout the rounds. In the Senior Category, the competition grew even more intense, and it was Aryabhata House that emerged as the Champion, demonstrating keen foresight and an outstanding command of the game. Bhabha House secured the 1st Runner-Up position, while Ramanujan House achieved the 2nd Runner-Up title. Vivekananda House, though finishing 4th, showcased admirable effort and determination. The event was a true testament to the intellectual enthusiasm of our students, highlighting how chess remains not just a game but a tool for mental development and character building.
